02 | HOW IT PROTECTS YOU
1. Cryptographic randomness at the core
Every password comes from your operating system's cryptographic random number generator, with rejection sampling so every character is equally likely. We show you the entropy in bits — and the quantum-adjusted figure — so you never have to take 'strong' on faith.
2. 600,000 rounds of key stretching
Your master password is stretched with PBKDF2-SHA256 and a random salt before it ever becomes a key. A guess costs an attacker real time; a strong passphrase costs them centuries.
3. AES-256-GCM
The safe is encrypted with the same cipher class governments use for top-secret data. Against a future quantum computer, AES-256 still retains roughly 128 bits of security. A wrong password or a tampered file is rejected outright.
4. No network. At all.
The page carries a security policy that forbids every outbound connection. No servers, no accounts, no analytics. Open your browser's Network tab: it stays empty.

Your safe lives only in your browser
There is no sync yet. Export an encrypted backup and keep it somewhere safe. If you forget your master password, nobody — including us — can recover it. That's by design.

Proven, boring cryptography
Quantum-resistant means your secrets are protected by maths a quantum computer can't shortcut, not that we own a quantum computer. And nothing can protect a reused password or an already-infected device.
